For my second day in Prague, I wanted to see Astronomical clock and maybe the Klementinum National Library. My friend, Hugh B, also reminded me of the Art Nouveau master, Alphonse Mucha and the museum dedicated to his work in Prague. While looking at Apple Maps to find a route to the library and clock, I found the Museum of Alchemy (http://www.alchemiae.cz/en) which was near my hotel. The chemist in me had to go there! I had a bit more energy since I was sleeping better with the melatonin I’d bought in Berlin, so after an early breakfast, I set out to see some more sights. Unfortunately, the alchemy museum was packed with a 30 min wait for the next tour; rather than wait, I thought I would just come back at the end of the day.

I walked to the town square where I found a crowd and the clock. It was around 11:30 am and I decided to have lunch in a spot where I could wait to see the clock at noon – I had no idea what would happen but I figured something must happen at noon.

Well, there was a bit of a show in the upper blue windows of the clock but I couldn’t get a good photo from where I sat. The noon crowd dispersed and I walked around the square some more, felt tired and walked back to the hotel, completely forgetting the library and alchemy museum. After a short rest at the hotel, I did remember to go to the Orange Bar. I had not realized how much I was missing a decent cocktail! A Lavender’s Blue to start then a Penicillin – it’ll cure whatever ails you!
